The Islet of Areoso is a natural protected area located north of the Island Arousa to which it belongs. The islet is almost 9 hectares, low and made up mostly of fine sand, which is why its characteristic appearance is that of a dune coming out of the sea, especially in its northern part where there is a long white strip of sand. In the southern part, between the sand, an area of growing herbaceous vegetation emerges. It is surrounded by reefs located at the surface of the water. At its highest point, you can see the remains of megalithic dolmens. If you wish, you can take a sea route to see it closely.

ISLET OF AREOSO
BEACH SILGAR
Silgar Beach is the main beach in Sanxenxo in the Region of O Salnes , one of the most visited in the Ria of Pontevedra. It is more than 800 metres long and has a promenade lengthwise that allows you to contemplate the famous Statue of Madama, a work of art by the artist Alfonso Vilar Lamelas. Point Vicaño, a rock formation that separates it from Baltar Beach, is located at one end, and on the other you can see the Sanxenxo Sports Marina.
ISLAS CÍES
Cies Islands are an archipelago located in the Ria of Pontevedra, north-east of the Iberian Peninsula and at the mouth of the Ria of Vigo, part of the lower Galician Estuaries in Spain. It is made up of three islands: North or Monteagudo (Sharp Mouth), Del Medio (Middle Island) or (Lighthouse Island) and South or San Martiño ( Saint Martin) Island.
THE CATHEDRAL IN SANTIAGO OF COMPOSTELA
The Cathedral in Santiago of Compostela , the great work of Master Mateo. In the year 813, the tomb of James the Apostle was found here and the 11th century a magnificent cathedral started to be built. A great artist, Master Mateo would sculpt a Masterpiece of Spanish Romanesque art.
THE SAN SADURNIÑO TOWER
The San Sadurniño Tower was built in the 10 th century and was intended to defend the coast. It was destroyed by the Irmandiños, but was reconstructed in the 14 th century. In the 18 th century it was abandoned and deteriorated gradually. The collapsed remains, apparently 3 bodies, reveal being built in ashlar and having traces of edification. It is very badly conserved, although its setting maintains great beauty. Its position on the end of an islet, must have been conditioned by prior constructions,a landmark, a watchtower, and a fortification at that point of the estuary.
COMBARRO
The historical old town in Combarro stands out for its complex of harmonious Galician architecture that includes traditional houses, granaries and stone crosses. The current urban structure dates back to the 18 th century and the houses are organized in a group of narrow streets that divide from two main streets, La Rua and San Roque. Here, typical fishermen’s \\\ houses from the Rias Baixas with ground floor columned porticos are exhibited.
ISLAND OF CORTEGADA
The Island of Cortegada is situated in the Municipality of Vilagarcia of Arousa. Is is the biggest of an archipelago that, aside from Cortegada, includes the Islands of Malveiras or Briñas Islands. These three islands are part of the Atlantic Islands National Park in Galicia. During low tides it communicates with Carril by a causeway called the “Camino del Carro.” Its habitat, more frequently found in the southern regions where the climate is humid temperate and mild, is a type of subtropical cloud forest or high jungle. Cortegada is the only place in Europe where you can study the recovery of this kind of community naturally.
PAZO QUINTEIRO DA CRUZ
El Pazo Quinteiro da Cruz is situated in the parish of Lois, in Ribadumia in the heart of the Salnes Valley . The estate has several romantic elements like stone fountains, shady bowers, gardens, statues and sundials which date back to the 18 th century. The manor house, an example of Galician neoclassic architecture, has two “cruceiros” (stone crosses) of which the most outstanding is the one next to the house, and a 15-metre-long stone horreo ( raised granary), all of which are from the 18 th century.
MANOLO PAZ
Since 2010 the Manolo Paz Foundation has played a very special role in the essential spaces in the Galician art scene. The Foundation, launched by Manolo Paz , a sculptor
from Cambados and run by Julia Garcia Escudero, is home to his studio as well as the place where his work is exhibited, work which is dominated by the extraordinary combination of art and nature.
ADEGA EIDOS
Adega Eidos is a family winery that begins its business project in the year 2000, elaborating albariño wine under the Designation of Origin Rias Baixas . The company has been in operation since 1993 and inaugurated new facilities in Sanxenxo in the year 2003. Located in the southernmost sub-area of the Salnes Valley and protected by a hillside called “ Padriñan, ” it is nourished by the countless, small, age/old plantations that you see there.
ONS ISLAND
The Ons archipelago has ten beaches almost all virgen. Half are on the eastern-side of the island of Ons, and from north to south are Melide ( the largest and nudist), de Dornas (for the northern dock), Area dos Cans (the most central and the busiest), Canexol (close to the fort or “castro” and the cemetary) y Pereiró (the southern most). On the west -facing Atlantic are the rocky beaches of Fontiñas and Liñeiro. To the south, is Fedorento Beach, and on the northern-most island of the archipelago are the beaches of Onza North and Onza South.
RIA BAROSA NATURAL PARK
The “Ría de Barosa Natural Park” is a natural space situaded in the Province of Pontevedra (Galicia), in the Town of Barro, very close to its northern boundary, on the border of the Town of Portas. It is characterised by the presence of the Agra River, which, in the past, moved a series of mills located along the course of the river. These are a group of mills that spread throughout the waterfall and the upper part of the Agra River. This, as well as the sound of falling water and the beauty of the place, is what is striking about the setting.
ARMENTEIRA MONASTERY
The Armenteira Monastery is in Baroque and Renaissance style from the XVI and XVII century, and also preserves the magnificant Romanesque church founded by the first Cistercian abbot in the year 1167. The church is shaped like a Latin cross and has three naves and three apses. The facade is probably the most outstanding as it has six archivolts being supported by the same number of columns and above it, is a beautiful, plate-pierced rose window.
MAR DE FRADES
Get to know closely one of the most beautiful wineries in the region, with its avant-garde architecture and intergrated in the forest that crowns Mount Valiñas. Mar de Frades and its new premises, inaugurated in 2007, are located at the foot of the vineyard at the heart of the Salnes Valley, on a hillside, opposite the Arousa estuary, where the Atlantic breeze is tempered before reaching this unique location.
